DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING NOTATION
SC Code Section 56-3-115
Did you know? You can fill out a form at the SCDMV (SC Department of Motor Vehicles) branch to add a Deaf or Hard of Hearing notation linked to your license plate on your vehicle? This helps police officers to be prepared for communication before approaching your vehicle.

Effective March 24, 2021, individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing will be able to add a special notation, linked to their vehicle license plate, in the SCDMV's online database.
